So as kind of a part 2 to the last blog, I wanted to follow up with some more things that have happened and more revelation, personal and otherwise so read on with fervor because it applies to you, too! 🙌🏻
We have a good friend who is a great singer/musician/artist 🎸who is doing a lot of what we want to do more of, and that is, playing our music in clubs, on festival stages, in theaters, on tours and in churches.
To say it in more “purpose oriented” phrasing, we want to play our music for non-believers and the body, both.
But once again, from the department of, “can we be honest?”, the jobs we’re both doing right now and the hours they demand, combined with the desire to be seeing much more forward movement and the frustration of not seeing much of it, well, both of us had allowed it to get us in a funk of discouragement. 🥵
That artist friend and I had a conversation the other day and they weren’t all that “comforting”.
You’ve probably got that friend, or maybe it’s your pastor, or your spouse, etc., who just doesn’t handle your complaining about things not working, with much of a “hug, it’s gonna be okay, I’m sorry to hear that…” kind of approach. ☹️
On some days, I can handle that, on other days… not so much.
But this friend, and then a teaching I was listening to, said the same thing and I started seeing that Holy Spirit was at work.
This email came in also, yesterday, but I just got around to reading it today:
“All this talk about transition is really a conversation about God taking us from one phase in the journey of destiny to another. He is revealing something on the earth right now! While you are in the “process” you are not sure where you fit in. If you do not allow the master stone mason to cut the rough edges off of you, He cannot use you in the new thing. Makes sense, doesn't it?
The problem is, we don't always know what the Father is up to when the hammer and chisel start hitting. The master mason knows that each stone is different in color, shape and size. If they are going to fit into a “glorious house” there will need to be some changes.”
So as I mentioned in the last blog, Searching For Summertime and Cussing, my rough edges have been getting exposed; my old fleshly approaches to life and how I have gone about “getting” the life I think I want are showing up and being exposed for what they are; old, dead man, way of the world, thinking.
But the conversation, and then the teaching, and then the article, all added up to God wanting me to not get discouraged as He does this preparatory and at the same time, ongoing, work.❤️
Hebrews 12: 7-13
7 “Fully embrace God’s correction as part of your training, Note: (12:7 or “what you endure is meant to educate you.”) for he is doing what any loving father does for his children. For who has ever heard of a child who never had to be corrected?
8 We all should welcome God’s discipline as the validation of authentic sonship. For if we have never once endured his correction it only proves we are strangers and not sons.
9 And isn’t it true that we respect our earthly fathers even though they corrected and disciplined us? Then we should demonstrate an even greater respect for God, our spiritual Father, as we submit to his life-giving discipline.
10 Our parents corrected us for the short time of our childhood as it seemed good to them. But God corrects us throughout our lives for our own good, giving us an invitation to share his holiness. 11 Now all discipline seems to be painful at the time, Note: (Throughout this passage, the word discipline can also be translated, “correction”, “instruction, “training”) yet later it will produce a transformation of character, bringing a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who yield to it.
12 So be made strong even in your weakness by lifting up your tired hands in prayer and worship. And strengthen your weak knees, 13 for as you keep walking forward on God’s paths all your stumbling ways will be divinely healed!”
So here’s your Vitamin C/Elixir message if you’ve been feeling like nothing’s working, you’re sick and tired of not seeing fruit, you’re snappy, short tempered, being lulled into apathy, etc…
Don’t give up!💥
Your heavenly Father loves you with such amazing passion, wisdom, hope, and faith, that you can’t lose!💪🏼
Now is not the time to throw in the towel, say “it’s too late”, “I can’t do this anymore”, “it’s not worth it”, etc., etc.
He has a plan🙏🏻 and it’s for your and the world’s benefit. You as a child of THE Most High God, are about to see what it looks like when one of His kids trusts Him and doesn’t give up!
